Main purpose of the role: The focus will be to develop outbound travel from the UK to Russia through building larger database of potential customers and effective account management of exisisitng clients within UK market.

Russian National Tourist Office is one of the leading UK travel companies for outbound leisure and business trips to Russia for individuals and groups. RNTO was founded in 1997, and have offices in London and Edinburgh and offices in Russia which are presented by BSI Group

The Business Development Manager is responsible for promoting Russia and BSI Group (one of Russia’s largest tour operators) within Corporate clients, MICE, Leisure travel agencies and TMCs in the UK. It’s a comparatively new exciting B2B role responsible for originating outbound business from the UK to Russia, covering all aspects of business development from setting the sales strategy through to client on-boarding and account management.

Main responsibilities:

Formulating and implementing the strategy for the company’s expansion of outbound tourism and business trips from the UK to Russia. This includes target identification and lead generation through, for example, cold calling and attending networking events and workshops

  • Leading the end-to-end sales process from generating sales leads through to conversion into accounts

  • Meticulous pricing analyse through effective benchmark

  • Writing proposals and negotiating agreements with UK Corporate clients, and travel agencies who offer group travel/MICE to Russia

  • Undertaking market and product research to adapt existing products/create new products for the UK market

  • Writing monthly reports

  • Creating, developing and actively managing the company’s client database

  • Developing brand awareness in the UK through effective marketing campaigns and sales activities

    Principal skills:

    Previous business development experience working in the travel, tourism and leisure sector is desirable

  • Excellent personal skills and experience working within a commercial and results oriented culture

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both oral and written)

  • Some knowledge of Russian tourist product including hospitality and inbound operation is a strong advantage

  • Strong team player with ability to act and perform independently using initiative to improve and develop process, manage workload and prioritise

  • Confidence in cold calling and building up initial contact with clients

    Hours of work:

    Full time, 09am to 18pm Monday to Friday


    Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Languages: Russian will be an advantage, English is mandatory

  • Applicants must hold the requisite residential and work permits in the United Kingdom
