Make a difference, every day, to the lives of our students.

About You

You will have in-depth knowledge of the issues and barriers relating to retention and attainment of learners in higher education, which will enable you to lead, motivate and develop an efficient team to provide excellent student support. With excellent interpersonal skills, you will be able to develop and deliver innovative support services by creating positive working relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues.

About the Role

This is an important new role managing the team and developing its strategic direction. You will ensure targeted support is provided for students who might find that higher education presents additional barriers and who require greater levels of transitional support whilst also embedding retention support more broadly. The role will also develop services with colleagues across the student lifecycle to enable good practice and new innovative ideas around how we can support students from a wide range of backgrounds.

We want you to feel happy when you come to work and proud when you go home.

From the moment you join us you have the opportunity to enhance your skills. We offer a range of specialist development sessions or courses and an award winning staff health & wellbeing programme (HR Excellence Awards 2017). This means as well as opportunities to attend interactive sessions like ‘Presenting with Impact’ or ‘Preparing for Progression & Success’, you are able to have a lunchtime stroll across our beautiful campus, book to get a trim from our onsite hairdresser, your car valeted, or get together with colleagues over free food and drink to watch the latest film on one of our Film Nights and so much more.

This is just a taste of what we are able to offer you at Edge Hill University.
