A top 150 food manufacturer to head up a major retail account for the business is seeking an Ecommerce National Account Manager based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire to join its expanding team. This opportunity will hold full responsibility for a major online retail account reporting directly into the Managing Director for the group. As an innovator within the company, you will influence the design of your category, as well as develop new product groups and improve customer selection. You will receive an uncapped commission, company car, laptop and phone. In addition, the company rewards for hitting targets such as trips away are a regular feature in the business.

This business was established in 1994 to supply red meat into the UK retail market. It now supplies chilled product to over 15 countries throughout Europe. As well as supplying premium products throughout Europe, it also supplies the majority of own label product to Woolworths in Australia.

As the Ecommerce National Account Manager your duties will include:

  • Implementing the ecommerce strategy within key national grocery accounts.
  • Having P&L responsibility and developing an ecommerce joint business plan to unlock the commercial potential for your customer in this exciting area of growth.
  • Driving growth through the key pillars in your account: product ranging, online merchandising, promotions and media buying.
  • Developing an industry leading relationship with your customer is a must. Your customer negotiation skills must be well honed and you should have a good commercial understanding of digital and ecommerce.
  • Building relationships within the brand will be critical to your success; championing ecommerce through the business and across marketing, shopper, customer and regulatory.


To be a successful Ecommerce National Account Manager you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Ecommerce experience.
  • Previously worked in account management or as a buyer and will have already moved into ecommerce.
  • Excellent understanding of the retail and FMCG markets.
  • A deep understanding of online trading, site merchandising, content and product and be able to demonstrate the ability to drive sales and on site conversion.
  • Be commercially focussed, analytically strong and have exceptional influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge in Excel, with database work and experience in SQL would be a plus.
  • A basic knowledge of front and back websites to enable you to talk at a technical level with the account’s .com team.
  • Existing understanding of media metrics, sales KPIs and promo analysis is a must in this role.


In return the Ecommerce National Account Manager will receive a salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
