Job Title: Financial Reporting Manager

Location: Central Cardiff

Salary: £50-60,000+bens

Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Head of Finance you will ensure the accurate and timely production of financial and regulatory information to the Board and senior managers.

Ensure year end statutory accounts and regulatory information is produced accurately; working to set deadlines. Responsible for overseeing the annual forecasting and budgeting process across the Group.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee the year end audit liaising with the Group’s auditors to ensure the statutory accounts process is completed with set deadlines.

Responsible for ensuring monthly tasks are completed correctly and sign off of the monthly reconciliations is complete.

Work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure the implementation of new accounting standards (i.e. IFRS 9) is successfully achieved.

Work closely with the Head of Finance to develop business plans and forecasts over a 1 year budget horizon and strategic 5 year business plan horizon.

Develop a rolling forecast process to ensure that the department can monitor its capital position.

Tax computations. Work closely with professional advisers to ensure tax payments and returns are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Assist in the preparation of Board reports.

Ensure Group policy documentation is renewed and upto date with latest regulatory and financial reporting developments.

Oversee the production and submission of group regulatory returns in a timely and accurate manner.

Provide advice and support to colleagues on queries of a more complex or technical nature, identifying training needs and recommending or providing training / coaching for colleagues where appropriate.

Establish, maintain and review operating policies and job cards (systems of internal control) to ensure that they are sufficiently robust to adequately safeguard the Group’s assets and where weaknesses are identified ensure remedial action is taken in a timely manner.

Be accountable for identifying, evaluating and managing all significant risk within areas of responsibility and where appropriate report on risk identified elsewhere in the Group.

Undertake relevant project work when required ensuring the task is followed through to an acceptable finish.

Skills and experience required:

Degree level education

Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification

Relevant technical accounting/financial reporting experience

Experience of IFRS9, desirable

Relevant experience within a financial services environment

Sound accounting and financial acumen

Good project management skills

Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills

Self Motivated

Ability to work under pressure

Understanding and awareness of regulatory environment

Team management

Excellent IT skills
