Platform Engineer (Windows / .NET) - Central Bristol - up to £45,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a global organisation who are based in Central Bristol who are seeking a passionate Platform Engineer. You will be tasked to provide 24/7 support across the companies' global platform and manage the escalation of priority incidents.

Accountabilities are this role will include:

  • 24x7 support of their platform services and infrastructure
  • Manage the escalation of critical incidents
  • Working on problems of moderate scope and complexity, requiring analysis
  • Ability tunes applications for performance and reliability
  • Work to respond to customer alerts with alignment to the SLA's agreed
  • Taking ownership of the companies' best practice
  • Be involved in the companies' platform deployment processes

Skills needed to excel in this role:

  • Be able to problem solve technical issues
  • Strong exposure and hands on experience with to Windows 2008/12
  • Experience in development and scripting - (C#, .NET, Powershell)
  • Experience with liaising with 3rd parties and vendor management
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Experience in working in a faced paced environment and have a proactive attitude

The company would also like the following skills but they are not essential:

  • AWS or other cloud technology experience
  • Linux OS
  • Production configuration management and control processes
  • Experience with networking and telephony
  • Application / server performance monitoring and tuning
  • Working in an ITIL environment
  • Working within a DevOps environment
