Venturexec are working in partnership with a leading provider of risk management services, insurance and reinsurance who are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager for their Leeds office.

Job Overview:

You will be working for one of the Top 10 Insurance Brokers and your prospects and clients will be a complete mix of industry sectors. The turnover of clients you will look after will typically range between £100m to £500m and you will be responsible for the following; dealing with prospective clients and offering procurement and risk management advice, dealing with requirements for proposals (RFP’s), building relationships through meetings, networking events and corporate entertaining. The successful candidate will ideally have previously written gross premiums across all policies of £500k + in value.

As a Business Development Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Educated to Degree level or equivalent of commercial Insurance experience

Excellent communication and presentations skills

Strong Client Management relationship skills

Technical commercial insurance knowledge

Strong influencing and negotiation skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Strong business acumen

Proven background in setting Commercial Insurance ideally for a Large Broker

Strong commercial insurance knowledge, across all major classes

Ability to use insurance industry IT systems

Good understanding of compliance and FCA regulation.
