An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently recruiting for an Assistant Product Deploy Manager within the foods R&D function, based at their UK HQ in Leatherhead. This is a temporary role to start May 2017 and expected to run for 9 months. The salary for this position is paying up to a maximum of £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The R&D Foods Local Deploy Team is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of local R&D elements within each MCO (Local Manufacturing Office).

Local Deploy Team is responsible for the effective deployment and on-going maintenance of activities in their responsible category/categories across the MCO's geography. This includes technical management, regulatory compliance, sustainability, nutrition, claims clearance and challenge management, promotional support, issues management and crisis management.

Role & Responsibilities:
The Assistant Local Deploy Manager assists their Category in effective partnerships with their local brand building teams providing as necessary relevant input and insights for the successful implementation & activation of products and brands in the markets.

Key accountabilities:
1.Support their respective Local Deploy Manager in the category.
2.Support the implementation of new product development across the MCO geographies including legal conformity, nutritional aspects, claims check, clearance of promotional items, quality performance monitoring, etc.
3.Assist in translating MCO requirements into appropriate input for the Categories/ Development organisations. This includes local needs (taste/regulatory compliance), distribution & usage conditions, and secondary packaging requirements.
4.Liaise with R&D Design teams (RDCs) and supply chain particularly regarding technical execution of projects as appropriate.
5.Local specification management and artwork approval.
6.Provision of technical support to the Quality function & Careline.
7.Monitor consumer complaints and raise with Quality and R&D.
8.Participate in the wider European Deploy team
9.Assists resolution of operational issues across the MCO geographies including where appropriate claims clearance through Clearcast.
10.Monitor trends in the market place and arrange competitor monitoring.

Key skills:
1.Background in Science/Technology (Biology, Chemistry Food, Nutrition or similar) or relevant experience (e.g. food specifications etc.).
2.Excellent attention to detail (proof reading and reviewing art detail).
3.Previous experience of working within a project environment (working to deadlines, updating and completing actions, identifying any risks and helping to overcome these).
4.General working knowledge of Microsoft office packages (Word, Excel). There is no requirement to create any documentation, the templates are already in place.
5.Food Legislation or Nutrition background advantageous but it essential.
