Sales Executive: South East/London: Materials Handling

Our client is a market leader in the materials handling sector. They are looking for a Sales Executive to develop business.

Role Purpose

To generate sales of equipment and service to both customers and prospects within a designated territory. Responsible for maintaining and building a database of potential customers within the region with emphasis on contract renewals.

Key Activities

1. To sell the complete range of new and used counterbalance and warehouse equipment to all business types in a specific patched location

2. To sell service maintenance contracts and other value add opportunities for the Company based on the solutions required to satisfy the customer’s need(s)

3. To actively develop business in the specific patched location, including knowledge of customer future requirements and competitor information

4. To achieve a specified call rate to ensure participation in territory potential and market share

5. To develop a territory and marketing plan to enable uniform territory coverage, maintain accurate customer files and input essential information into a database

6. To liaise with customers, supplier’s internal functions and departments to ensure a high level of customer service

7. Actively seek opportunities to build with key personnel in organisations

8. Keep abreast of developments within the Materials Handling environment market

9. To proactively manage time effectively for maximum results

10. To ensure accurate and timely completion of placing orders and generating

quotations, as specified by the company

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

-Direct sales experience, ideally capital goods equipment or logistics, preferably within the Materials Handling industry.

-Product, sector and industry knowledge, commercially minded.

-Knowledge of storage and logistics systems, PC literate

-Understanding of marketing principles and account planning processes.

-Able to communicate convincingly both orally and in writing to all levels. -Numerically competent

-Experience of selling equipment and service contracts

-Experience of organising and prioritising a demanding workload

-Good understanding of different contract types

- Ability to engage customers

-Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally
