Senior Development Manager

Based Brentwood

Salary to £85K + car/car allowance + bonus + benefits

Working for our client, a leading housing developer

Permanent position

We are currently working with our client to recruit a Senior Development Manager for residential, regeneration and mixed development projects in London and the south east.

The Development Manager would be expected to co-ordinate the skills and resources of each function, together with appointing and managing external consultants to ensure that each development is optimised through efficient management. The successful applicant will also take responsibility for both progress and procurement of new developments through the legal, technical, planning, financial and sales stages from inception through to project completion.

Main Skills to include:

  • Negotiate legal documentation with partners and ensure compliance throughout the development. These documents will include construction, land assembly, development management agreements and joint venture agreements
  • Manage planning applications
  • Liaise with in-house technical disciplines to ensure a robust planning application
  • Undertake detailed financial appraisals to review and monitor financial viability
  • Obtain internal approvals for projects

Post the planning phases, you will:

Continue with the on-going monitoring of financial performance, liaising with in-house sales and marketing teams to establish market strategies and values, on-going review of legal, planning and S106 obligations and attending site meetings.

You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in managing non-standard residential developments, be capable of creating development plans, possess a strong commercial attitude, a track record in leading and motivation a multi-disciplinary team which will call upon excellent leadership, communication and management skills.

You will also need to have good IT skills especially in Excel and preferably have a recognised degree or appropriate professional qualification.

You must be able to prove you are eligible to live and work in the UK and that you have worked in the UK for the last 3 years.
