This Independent Special school for girls with SEMH and complex needs aged 12 - 19 yrs seeks a Deputy Head Teacher to join the team. The school caters for children from three on site residential homes and provides a rich, broad and balanced curriculum.

This Ofsted registered residential and vocational college for vulnerable girls is set in an eleven acre site in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside, near Alrewas and Rugeley. On-site there are after school clubs and activities which range from horse riding, cooking and horticulture to dressmaking, sport and fitness. There are many leisure centres, dance classes, martial art classes and other community based activities locally which the girls are supported and encouraged to partake in to develop their social skills and self-esteem.

An exciting position has arisen for a Deputy Head Teacher to join the school community to strengthen and support its growth and continue to develop and further improve the quality of educational provision.

The Deputy Head Teacher will be required to provide support to the Head Teacher in the day-to-day management of the school. The post holder will support in the vision, leadership and direction for the continuing development of the school. In addition, they will be responsible for ensuring that teaching and learning are highly effective and that all pupils achieve their maximum potential. It is anticipated that the post will carry an expectation to teach part time as well as manage aspects of the school development.

The successful candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status, relevant postgraduate study and ideally hold a management qualification such as the NPQSL/NPQH, and experience of working with children with ESMH and/or other co-morbid positions. In addition, the candidate will be self-motivated and will be able to inspire others.
