A small R&D team nestled in the heart of Cheshire surrounded by glorious country side and beautiful beaches is growing its capabilities at a rapid pace and looking for a Principal mechanical design engineer to take responsibility for approvals and sign off on medical device designs.

" You will manage design suppliers to ensure quality and delivery of robust, reliable and effective device products
" You will have full design authority for devices from research through design, verification and validation
" As Principal engineer you will lead safety risk activities and define critical components for design and ensure that all regulatory documentation is maintained and updated
" In the state of the art labs and offices you will ensure products are designed and developed to specific medical standards - ISO13485, CFR 820 and manage the full system including packaging, labelling and instructions etc
" You will lead projects and mentor and offer technical guidance to engineers within the team


" In order to be successful you must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of high precision mechanism design
" You must have excellent knowledge of plastic injection moulding for precision components to micron scales
" It would be very desirable to have a background in medical devices however other highly regulated sectors would be considered- Automotive, Aerospace, Defence etc
" You will be degree qualified in either mechanical engineering, Physics or similar
" Proven abilities in first principle design - analysis and modelling of systems and components (fluid dynamics, force, measurement testing etc)
" Engineers from a mould tool design background would also be considered if you have produced precision components for medical / Pharmaceutical applications
