Client Details

My client are a leading manufacturing business based in Southampton and are seeking a new QHSE Manager join their team. This role sits within their site management team and they are looking for a proactive, engaging individual that has a strong balance between Quality as well as HSE - as the business continues on it's growth trajectory.

Description

The key responsibilities for the QHSE Manager will involve:

Quality and Environment Responsibilities:

  • Ensure both regulation and standards are effectively implemented, monitored and maintained including ISO9001 & ISO14001
  • Provide principle contact for customer communications pertaining to quality concerns providing confidence that our products meet their needs,
  • Provide principle contact and co-ordination for all internal and third party quality and environmental audits. Ensure any corrective actions are managed and resolved within a timely fashion.
  • Assume lead site representation for quality and environmental programs and initiatives as part of cross site collaborations with other sites.
  • Ensure programs and initiatives are effectively communicated within business and any changes or improvements agreed implemented
  • Lead, participate in and support internal cross functional meetings to improve process and product quality
  • Provide timely and accurate dashboard reporting of quality performance across the business
  • Using a virtual team and all available quality data support production in understanding root cause and implementing permanent corrective actions using a structured approach to problem solving

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, maintain and report upon business systems related to the compliance to all pertinent health safety legislation including risk assessment programs and accident recording & reporting.
  • Maintain awareness of new legislation and a working knowledge of all the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect our industry, updating the Senior Management Team in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update H&S information to employees through established communication routes.
  • Collate and file risk assessments carried out by business together with COSSH reports, MSDS sheets and method statements obtained from suppliers/sub-contractors.
  • Monitor and maintain AOL Accident reporting to ensure all incidents are recorded accurately, and immediately and that follow up investigations are completed in a timely manner
  • Carry out H&S data analysis and report compilation, highlighting trends to Senior Management team
  • Maintain safety action plan of remedial actions and ensure actions/activity undertaken is completed on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate training programs related to maintaining up to date knowledge and compliance to health and safety requirements
  • Carry out unannounced safety tours and audits and report on findings (positive & corrective) to senior management team.
  • Co-ordinate Fire Alarm & Sprinkler testing in line with legislative needs and industry best practice.

Profile

The ideal candidate for the QHSE Manager role will have the following background:

  • Experience of working in the manufacturing industry
  • A strong level of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment experience.
  • Attained or willing to attain a NEBOSH H&S at work Qualification
  • Membership of an industry related professional body

Job Offer

The successful candidate for the QHSE Manager will be offered between £32,000 - £40,000 + an excellent benefits package.
