Mortgage and Protection Office Manager

Location: Vauxhall, London
Salary: £30,000 basic salary with performance related bonus taking you up to £35,000.
Contract: Full time, permanent

My client is a family business with origins starting over 25 years ago. They provide financial advice and planning to people who want to ensure they make the right financial decisions at the right time and at the right cost!

Specialising in providing mortgage advice from a vast range of lenders, giving independent recommendations for products and providers together with protection appraisals to secure their clients and families futures.

Due to extensive growth plans, they currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly competent person who can take responsibility for managing work flow, hitting deadlines and being fully compliant in all aspects of Mortgage, Pure Protection and General Insurance business. To be committed to the long term corporate objectives to grow the company and have rewards linked to this. Remuneration package generous with no ceiling for the right candidate and starting salary depends on experience and ability. Initially to managing a team of 4 to 6 people.


  • Supervising and managing mortgage, pure protection and payment shield general insurance applications from early enquiry stage to completion.
  • Experienced at keying in mortgage, protection and GI applications to many different product providers.
  • Supervising the collating of documents and uploading onto the client management system.
  • Assistance with completions of fact finds, budget planners, and affordability calculators and on occasions some product research.
  • Contacting product providers and clients for updating/processing cases to completion.
  • Understanding compliance and requirements of the network Sesame, the FCA and achieving accurate compliant client files for the brokers in the company. KRI's for the company and individual brokers.
  • Supervising the Issuing of terms and conditions for new clients.
  • Para planning and production of suitability reports for mortgages, life and General Insurance.

The ideal applicant has the opportunity to develop and grow within this organisation so the ability to organise and manage a small team of Administrators would be an advantage. Currently the person will be responsible for a team of between 3 to 5 administrators and 2 brokers.

  • Extensive experience of the Mortgage Broking market and Protection field essential.
  • Excellent Communication skills, including ability to train others.
  • Team leading skills with experience of managing and motivating others.
  • Highly self-motivated and results driven.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and thorough administrative Skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with customers/team.
  • Lateral thinking and problem solving abilities. To be able to amend or set up new systems.
  • Manage commission statements from product providers.
  • IT/keyboard skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
