Working with a small infrastructure team, the successful candidate will help to maintain, support and upgrade the businesses infrastructure estate looking after around 300 users across multiple sites.

The business is an multiple faction outsourcing company, especially focused upon business services such as HR & IT predominately.

Based out of Birmingham City Centre our prestige client are currently growing at a rapid rate to keep up with the demands of their solid work in helping assist business with their HR and IT support needs.

They specialise in helping businesses focus on being as profitable as possible whilst taking care of certain departments for a significantly lower cost than developing it themselves. They are extremely beneficial to other SME businesses throughout the Midlands.

They have posted year on year growth since their inception around 2003 and are forecast to keep doing so for the foreseeable future.


As a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer based in Birmingham City Centre, you will be responsible for help maintaining the infrastructure of not only the business itself, but also for it's client that utilise their IT outsourcing proposition.

This will give increased exposure to a plethora of technologies and will require someone of an organised mindset to be able to keep up with various networks and the technology it uses.

Predominately the successful candidate will be maintaining, updating and deploying:

  • VM's hosted on VMWare
  • Firewall (Cisco & Juniper mostly)
  • LAN/WAN Switch/Router configuration (Basic level, support from ISP)
  • Infrastructure to support mobile/travelling and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) users
  • Server-Side (AD, Group Policy, Roaming profile + Storage)
  • Project Documentation and Management
  • Disaster Recovery and Backup maintenance/monitoring


This is a real opportunity to play a pivotal role in the company's growth. Within the existing team, the successful candidate will be a highly technical individual who takes a proactive, hands-on approach in maintaining the existing environment, and helping introduce new technologies. The successful 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer will assist in all aspects of local IT projects, monitoring, administration, maintenance, and reporting, in line with our IT strategy and policies, and to meet the needs of the business.

Exposure to the majority of technologies listed are heavily favourable with detailed experiences being sought after.

Job Offer

Depending on the successful candidate's experience - any 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer can earn between 28-35K with additional corporate benefits to be discussed if they are selected to interview stage.
