This is you're opportunity to lead and manage small to medium machine build and development projects (up to £0.5M) for a globally recognised engine manufacture with sites across the UK.

Purpose of Job
The design of advanced machine tool with consideration for manufacturing and assembly requirements. Provide design support for innovative manufacturing techniques.

Duties
To lead and manage small to medium machine build and development projects (up to £0.5M) working with teams involving plants.
To create concept and detailed design drawing using CAD 2D/3D, solid modelling techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
To participate in installation and commissioning of machinery on site
To advise in the development and continuous improvement projects running in plants.
To liaise with plants, suppliers and other internal teams.
To support plants and Product Development with process problems.
Due to the geographical location of the manufacturing plants, travelling to Europe, US, South America and Asia is required.

Experience
Machine tool design experience using 2D & 3D CAD
Hands-on knowledge of machine tool design and calculation
Experience of major CAD system such as Inventor, and/or Solidworks, Pro-Engineer
Experience working with metal processing.
Bearing production experience would be beneficial.

Skills
Knowledge of general engineering fundamentals and understanding of the manufacturing environment
Numerical and analytical and problem solving skills
The ability to read, understand and interpret detailed drawings
Have the ability to work effectively in a small team
Take ownership, be enthusiastic, creative and adaptive
Desirable skills include:
Failure Mode Effects Analysis
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
