Role: Electronics Engineering Manager
Location: Havant, Portsmouth
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits

ISL are looking for an electronics engineering manager to manager an established engineering team at a great company, you will be leading Firmware and Hardware Engineers and Technicians in the design and development of embedded systems architecture to success!

Experience required:

*A proven track record in building, managing and mentoring engineering teams, preferably across multiple site locations.
*Experience in translating product design requirements into electronic architecture specifications.
*Experience of design for high-volume manufacture including manufacturing procedures and processes.
*Experience of working with an Asian and Eastern European supply base is desirable.
*Good knowledge and experience of costing, manufacturing processes, FMEA, VAVE, QFD, modular design (hardware and software), risk analysis, change management, and other relevant best practices, systems, tools and methodologies.
*International appliance approbation standards knowledge, (EMC, LVD, RED, RoHS, WEEE, etc).
*Proven experience in working collaboratively across multiple product development and specialist teams.
*Substantial experience in complex system architecture design and integration, combining product sub-systems to deliver requested performances.

You're Role:

*Advising and supporting project management in the compilation of requirements specifications and in the delivery of projects.
*Assisting in preparation of budgets.
*Collaboration with external suppliers and sub-contractors to develop electronic solutions.
*Continually review project status to make sure technical challenges are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
*Define and develop a Job Family Matrix for the Electronics Function detailing the skills, competences and experience required at all levels to deliver functional and project objectives.
*Development of systems for document, data, software and hardware control.
*Help engineers with the interpretation of product design requirements into electronic architecture requirements and designs to meet specification, planned project timescales, and at, or below, target cost.
*Identification, development and ongoing management of external partnerships and collaborations.
*Keeping abreast of, evaluating and communicating process and technological developments, which may bring innovation opportunities to the business.
*Preparation and/or review of technical requirements and design specifications for hardware and software.
*Preparing and presenting information, ideas and data.
*Preparing, communicating and implementing procedures in support of best practice introduction.
*Regular travel to group subsidiaries, group factories, suppliers and other external providers globally.
*Review, allocate and adjust resources to defined NPD projects according to agreed priorities, hi-lighting constraints and identifying solutions to overcome them.
*Reviewing Electronics Function needs and identifying and implementing best practice improvements to processes, techniques and methodologies as applicable.
*Reviewing Electronics Functions needs and identifying and implementing new technologies and systems as applicable.
*Reviewing skills, experience and competences against requirements, identifying training and development needs, and working with HR to prepare and implement individual PDPs (Personal Development Plans) in order to address gaps and ensure individuals have the appropriate skills and experience to successfully deliver functional and project objectives.
*Specification of test requirements, and development and direction of prototype testing align with industry best practices.
*Support scoping activities for new programs, features and / or cost down opportunities.
*Work in close collaboration with other functions to develop and validate electronic architecture solutions to fulfil project objectives (cost, quality, performance and time).
*Works closely with the Electronics Team to architect and develop the best technical solution and approach.
