Assistant Quantity Surveyor
We have an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for all financial aspects of the project working closely with the Senior Commercial Manager and Project Manager. Candidates will be currently working in a Trainee or Assistant Quantity Surveyor role, ideally degree qualified with at least 1 years’ experience post qualification. The role will be based on a large-scale project in the education sector in the Reading area. The key elements of the project include structural refurbishment, recladding of an existing building and internal fit out to a high specification.
•Manage projects through the full project lifecycle, working on a range of projects including new build, extensions and fit outs
•Work on tenders and establish tender strategies
•Establish and manage supply chain
•Monitoring the financial progress of projects and regularly communicating and assessing potential impacts of changes to budgets
•Monthly valuations/managing cash flow
•Minimum of 3 years’ quantity surveying experience post qualification within the construction industry.
•Proven contracting experience, particularly knowledge of JCT.
•Strong procurement and package management experience.
•Ability to work on multiple projects up to the value of £30m.
•Commercial awareness; understanding and ability to make profit whilst retaining relationships and company values.
•Excellent communication and negotiating skills and demonstrable ability to work with multiple site teams.
