Your new company
This organisation is a specialist ecommerce company involved in direct marketing and warehousing. The IT Director is championing a policy to keep all technical work in house and to support this strategy they are looking to recruit an additional web designer for their head office in Poole.
This is a hybrid role essentially looking for a candidate with design and creative skills that can take a Flat then convert/code it using front end technologies.
Your new role
You will be working in a multi-disciplined team of marketers, developers and designers to support the companies online business streams which include a portfolio of over 30 ecommerce websites. Given that these are transactional sites you should understand that a pragmatic layout and user experience is more paramount than something that is purely visual.
The company have a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities available so you will you're your skill set. These could include re-templating for UX purposes, maintenance of sites, logo ideas, banner creation or responsive design coding. It's 50% creative, 50% function and tech.
The role requires a commercial mind and you will be expected to learn the company's product suite and will be joining a business that has enjoyed year on year growth since 2000.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be fluent with HTML/CSS and the Adobe Creative Suite. You will have knowledge of jQuery and be able to evidence work at interview that shows you can bridge the gap between designer and developer to work toward the production of Responsive Design sites.
