Electrical Controls Engineer - 2 year FTC
We are currently recruiting an Electrical Controls Engineer on a 2 year fixed term contract to work for a reputable global employer within Great Abington. You will be required to undertake a variety of control and servicing tasks, primarily at the main site with some travel as required.
Main duties and responsibilities include:·Designing, building and installing Control and Interlock Safety Circuits to enable safe operation of laboratory and other equipment (typical installations are in working cells with equipment for lasers, x-ray and surface spraying as well as manufacturing and other machinery/equipment).·Supporting projects from cradle to grave. (Input into proposals, costings, design and build.)·Understanding relevant information from drawings and documents supplied with equipment, and liaising with manufacturers/suppliers as required.·Enabling the design and build of the interfacing to external circuits and equipment.·Interface with NSIRC students to provide electrical controls support for the design, build and demonstration of equipment.
Success in your application requires:·A recognised qualification for electronic/electrical engineering (i.e. HNC, City and Guilds).·Competency to work on 415V, 3 phase circuitry as well as low voltage, and qualified for electrical installation work.·Experience in the design, build, manufacture and maintenance of PLC/Relay controlled panels. ·Good communication skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines using own initiative.·A methodical and organised approach to work.
The successful Electrical Controls Engineer can expect an annual salary of £26,000 – 32,000 pa, free onsite parking, 25 days holiday amongst a list of benefits.
