THE PIG at Combe is looking for a highly organised and reliable Breakfast Chef who is passionate about producing breakfast to a high standard using fresh, locally sourced produce. Our eggs don’t come fresher than from our chickens on-site!

Previous experience in a similar role is preferable, with an appreciation of the importance of making sure our guests truly enjoy the best of what the most important meal of the day has to offer.

Passion is the key to our success, so we want our Breakfast Chefs to be enthusiastic about our food, our animals, the kitchen garden, foraging, and everything you do!

We require our Breakfast Chefs to:

  • Prep and cook dishes for a busy breakfast service
  • Ensure that portion size is controlled
  • Maintain high standards in all aspects of your role
  • Bring fresh ideas
  • Be willing to learn and progress
  • The role is a permanent full time position requiring the successful candidate to work 5 days out of 7, and with the Breakfast Chef starting at 6am so local accommodation and / or reliable transport is a must!

    As a member of the kitchen team, the learning and development opportunities are endless. You will experience:

  • Butchery, charcuterie, fish, pasta and bread masterclasses
  • Foraging with local experts
  • Weekly kitchen garden tours and harvesting workshops
  • An environment with livestock such as pigs, chickens, sheep, quail and bees.

    The most recent addition to the litter! THE PIG–at Combe is nestled in the Otter Valley near Honiton, Devon. This secluded, mellow, honey-coloured Elizabethan gem is set in 3,500 acres of lush Devonshire countryside.

    Designed in the style that has become THE PIG’s signature, it features a panelled garden restaurant, a restored Georgian Kitchen for dinner parties, 27 bedrooms and massage treatment rooms in the walled infusion garden.

    It is more than a boutique hotel, THE PIG-at Combe is an award-winning restaurant with rooms, with an obsessive commitment to home grown and local produce. Uncomplicated and simple British garden food, true to the micro seasons with the emphasis squarely on fresh, clean flavours.
