Location: Team Valley, Gateshead
Shifts: Morning (6am to 2pm), Afternoon (2pm to 10pm) and Nights (10pm to 6am)
Shift Allowance: Overtime double time bank holidays and Sundays and 1.5 on Saturdays
Benefits: Paid for 37.5 hours with 1 hours break-30 mins paid. 25 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays
Our client is - UKs fastest growing snack manufacturer and is based in Gateshead. As well tortilla chip brands MANOMASA and MEXICAN DAVE, the business also supplies own brand products to major UK retailers such as Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury, Aldi, The Co-op and Tesco.

As Maintenance Shift Engineer you will be required but not limited to; reactive maintenance on either plant equipment or facilities maintenance which would include troubleshooting and resolving the issue to minimise production down time. The Maintenance Shift Engineer responsibilities will be to look at the daily, monthly, quarterly and annual pre planned maintenance (PPM) and facilities maintenance when required. This position will require you to get involved with any projects that are taking place and to manage any contractors that come on site.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
- Ideally an apprentice trained engineer with either an HNC/ONC
- Proven experience working in a FMCG / Hygiene environment
- Ability to troubleshoot / Breakdown management
- Proven experience in reactive maintenance
- Multi-disciplined with an electrical bias
- Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical diagrams / schematics
- Able to work well in a team
