MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their SHEQ team with a Health & Safety Advisor for our @one Alliance (Anglian Water) joint venture framework. This role will require travel all throughout the Anglian region covering multiple sites.

The Anglian Water @one Alliance is a collaborative organization of consultants and contractors working together to deliver more than half of Anglian Waters capital investment programme. We will design and build around 800 schemes worth approximately £1.2billion. We design and construct water and water recycling (waste water) treatment centres that serve more than six million people in the East of England whilst maintaining and improving the water mains and the sewerage network in the region.

You will report directly to the National H&S Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include.

·Understand the joint venture Document and Health & Safety, Environmental & Wellbeing Policies and Procedures and statutory requirements as they affect the Project operations and ensure that the requirements are implemented

·Provide operational and functional management with advice on the prevention of accidents, ill health, environmental incidents and the practical implementation of the joint venture SHEW Approach document and related policies.

·Provide operational and functional management with advice for obtaining legal consents, licences and exemptions such as discharge consents, abstraction licences and waste management licences.

·Assist the Project Manager in preparing and developing the Construction Phase Plan & coordinator reviews.

·Undertake site SHEW inspections as required.Participate as requested in SHEW Audit and inspections

·Advise on the assessment and appointment of sub-contractors.

·When requested, advise on the preparation of SHEW risk assessments and Method Statements

·Ensure that appropriate Projects SHEW performance is monitored and reports are provided as required by the SHEW Manager, and Portfolio Lead.

·Assist in the investigation of incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents where appropriate.Monitor and coordinate the close out of the above.

·Assist in the preparation and implementation of SHEW training courses and ensure that staff with specific SHEW responsibilities have received the appropriate training.Organise the relevant SHEW Training where required

·Actively promote SHEW campaigns in addition to the implementation of best practice principles across the business, to include stakeholders such as the supply chain.

Person Specification


·Previous SHEW related experience within Construction

·On site construction experience

·Previous experience of construction site audits

·Knowledge and experience of CDM regulations

·NEBOSH Construction Certificate or IEMA Associate Qualification or equivalent NVQ

·Affiliate Member IOSH or Affiliate Member IEMA or equivalent



·Preferably worked for a main/principal contractor
