The Company

My client is a privately owned construction company that offer a range of services to the construction industry throughout the South West. A successful developer based in Bristol they specialise in delivering luxury apartments, retirement homes, student accommodation, and other residential developments.

They are currently working on projects with a scheme size ranging from £2-5m throughout the South West region & within other areas of the UK. Since establishment the company has experienced year on year growth in both staffing levels and turnover. Due to this organic growth they are currently looking for an experienced Technical Coordinator to join their expanding team

The Role

The successful Technical Coordinator will control and co-ordinate all technical information between external consultants and internal departments. They will ensure that all approvals are obtained and information received is issued to allow for a programmed start on site and develop designs through the construction phase

Duties will include but are not limited to:

·Apply for and secure statutory body approval of design

·Liaise with external consultants, utility companies, local authorities and NHBC

·Coordination of Utilities infrastructure and negotiation of costs

·Drive the design team forward – liaise with architects and design team to ensure deadlines are met

·Ensure design produced comply with policy requirements

·Coordination and negotiation of Building Control with Local Authorities

·Actively support the Project manager / Technical Director in their roles

·Attend site visits and meetings and accommodate build issues

The candidate

The successful Technical Coordinator must have:

·Previous experience of working as a Technical coordinator ideally on commercial projects with residential experience

·Up to date knowledge of building legislations

·An understanding of planning legislation and design and management guidelines

·Good level of IT – AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel and Word

·Skills to solve technical issues proficiently

·Excellent communication skills and be able to be an integral interface between the internal sales, design and operation teams, external consultants and suppliers

·Architectural or industry related degree would be an advantage
