Our client is a leading vaccine manufacturer in pandemic preparedness and a major contributor to the prevention and control of influenza globally.

They are seeking an experienced Communications Lead, to support the achievement of strategic objectives by helping to drive employee engagement, enhancing the company’s reputation in the local community and highlighting the site’s role in seasonal influenza and pandemic preparedness.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Develop and implement the local communications plan.
• Plan, create and distribute monthly business reports and weekly news internally
• Take responsibility for intranet page, ensuring it is up to date, accurate and easy to navigate
• Help drive attendance and ensure the smooth running of local and Global Town Halls. Provide local leaders with advice on positioning and content and assist with the development of visual assets as required. Provide end-to-end, on-the-ground support for the President and Town Halls.
• Develop and implement a communications plan to enhance the company’s reputation amongst key external stakeholders in the region, reinforcing the global brand positioning. Support the participation of business leaders in local activities and events and represent the company as required.
• Develop and implement corporate sponsorships, community investment and charitable partnerships, ensuring associated programmes are aligned with the global framework, and support reputation and employee engagement objectives.
• Serve as the media contact for the site and increase positive local media coverage. Ensure leaders are media trained and well prepared in advance of interviews. Refer media inquiries about material or corporate issues to the Head of Corporate Affairs.


• A degree in communications, public relations and/or journalism.
• An additional degree in science and/or relevant post-graduate qualifications would be advantageous.


• Developing and driving effective employee communications strategies in manufacturing environments and/or large complex organisations.
• Managing external affairs and community relations, including a successful track record in building reputation, media liaison and issues management.
• Developing corporate positioning, message development, writing high quality communications materials and advising executives.
• Social media strategy and implementation, including digital asset design and development, and various technology platforms.
• Operating in functional, matrixed-organisational structures, reporting into above-country management.
• Preference for an understanding of the vaccines industry, healthcare environment and manufacturing.
