You will provide Chef Manager or Chef cover to various sites based around Surrey, Sussex, Berkshire and London as required, where you will be responsible for effectively managing and monitoring the contract operation within budgetary restraints.

The main responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Oversee the preparation and service of all restaurant and hospitality requirements to client and company specification
  • Work to continuously develop and improve food quality and hygiene standards by monitoring customer trends and demands and by keeping up to date with changes in legislation
  • Ensure compliance with client, company and legal requirements such as health and safety, first aid and accident reporting
  • Be the first point of contact and meet with clients to ensure understanding of their needs
  • Recruit, train, develop and motivate staff and conduct regular team briefings
  • Maintain staff records within the unit and ensure training within legislation and company policy
  • Ensure adequate resources are available and that they are stored, used, maintained and controlled appropriately
  • Apply quality control procedures to ensure the maintenance of high standards of service and compliance with the contract specification
  • To control the budgets for staff, products and materials within any unit you are based in
  • Deal with cash controls and conduct accurate stock takes
  • Ensure the timely recording and remitting of all company bookwork
  • To be flexible in line with the business needs - antisocial and weekend work may be required

A resilient and robust, self-motivated, flexible, customer focused, autonomous self-starter who will take ownership of a diverse team, you will have a degree or HND in Intermediate Food Hygiene (RIPHH) and ideally be a member of relevant professional bodies such as HCIMA or HCA. You should be able to react quickly to changing situations and have a high level of attention to detail and an ability to focus on projects and the development of new innovations and concepts.

You will also:

  • Have excellent budgetary management and control skills and a firm grasp of cost control
  • Have previous P&L control and accountability of service delivery
  • Have people management skills
  • Be IT literate - proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word - essential
  • Have a good knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • Be a good motivator to management teams and show strong leadership skills
  • Have the ability to listens and communicate effectively
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence
  • Have a flexible approach to work and the ability to travel between sites as required
