About the Vacancy

There is an opportunity for a Compliance Adviser to work within our Compliance team on a 1-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of becoming a permanent. The key responsibilities of the Compliance Adviser are:

  • Providing advice where requested on complaints at initial stages
  • Dealing with complaints which have not been resolved by the business, including drafting final responses to complainants
  • Drafting responses to FOS complaints referred to FOS
  • Maintaining complaints records
  • Assisting with interpretation of conduct risk requirements and disseminating advice and guidance to relevant parties
  • Ensuring the Department’s Compliance Manual & Policies are accurate and up-to date
  • Performing inspections and providing recommendations on processes, policies and training to assist the business meet compliance requirements
  • Assisting with compliance committee meetings, drafting practice notes and acting as a conduit between compliance and various teams within the business
  • Administering with marketing document approval
  • Compiling information for regulatory returns
  • Providing advice relating to financial crime matters

About You

  • Previous experience of working within a compliance function or a similar role
  • Qualifications or working towards qualifications in compliance or law
  • A working knowledge of regulation in the UK, including Principles for Business & the FCA Handbook and role of the Information Commissioner’s Office
  • An in-depth knowledge of FOS complaint handling process
  • Would be advantageous to be knowledgeable about life insurance products, in particular income protection and private medical insurance plans
  • A broad knowledge of financial crime risks would be desirable
  • Must have the right to work in the UK

The Hours & Rewards

  • A full-time 1-year fixed-term contract with a salary of £25,000, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
  • Monday to Friday, 35 hour working week (7-hour day with 1 hour lunch)
  • Office opening hours are between 8:00am – 6:00pm
  • 24 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays per annum
