Fee Earner Assistant
Our highly successful client is seeking a professional, motivated and proactive Fee Earner Assistant for their Litigated Credit Hire department.
Reporting to the Lead Fee Earner, you will take responsibility for elements of file handling, adhering to strategies and undertaking tasks which will assist in facilitating the settlement of cases and the closure of files within agreed SLA’s.
Your responsibilities will include acknowledging instructions, liaising with client’s, Court and parties, drafting appropriate Court documentation, filing appropriate documentation at Court and serving upon any third parties where applicable, liaising with the Insured and witnesses with a view to drafting witness statements, negotiating with the Claimants solicitors to achieve a rapid and appropriate settlement, obtaining additional information and/or documentation from the insurer client and/or third parties to progress the negotiations, following up on outstanding instructions and any other actions to ensure that responses are received within required timescales.
In addition, you will provide general assistance and ad hoc duties to support the Lead Fee Earners as and when required, ensure all case management and matter information is inputted on to the system in a timely and accurate manner and ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2015.
Organised and flexible with high attention to detail, the successful candidate will have previous experience of working within a legal environment or alternatively will hold an appropriate qualification. You will be confident with good negotiation and influencing skills, the ability to prioritise your workload and work to deadlines.
