The Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for two dedicated, caring individuals to join the company as Occupational Therapy Assistants.

Purbeck View School is a 38 and 52 week mixed-gender residential school for students ages 7 – 19 with a diagnosis of autism, or whose difficulties place them on the autistic continuum. The students often present with complex learning needs, learning difficulties and challenging behaviours. Day provision is available for students who live close by.

Job Role

We are looking for two enthusiastic and interested individuals to work as part of the Occupational Therapy (OT) team at the school. These posts will combine clinical and administrative support roles: you will work directly with individual students or groups to deliver therapy programmes, under the direction of the senior OT, in classroom and residential settings, support the OT in assessment of student’s functional skills, report on student progress, provide support with resources for individuals and contribute to the development of the Sensory Environment. You will receive regular supervision and, as part of the Cambian OT service, be eligible for training.

Candidate Profile

It is essential that the successful candidates have an interest in developing student’s functional skills, and meeting sensory needs and have worked with children previously, preferably with children with special needs. Basic IT skills and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a busy team are essential for all aspects of this post.

Successful candidates will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post. Experience working with ASD/Experience in a school. Cambian is committed to Safeguarding and protecting the young people and service users within our care. All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks. Cambian is an equal opportunities employer.
