A bespoke vehicle OEM approaching a defining point within their history at the launch if their new EV range. They are seeking an experienced automotive Technical Buyer to support the engineering team in critical strategic sourcing of full vehicle components. You will possess recognised experience within an Automotive or Manufacturing supply chain procurement environment.


Commutable from: Coventry, Leicester, Birmingham, Leamington Spa, Rugby, Northampton

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 p.a.

The Role

You will be responsible assisting the engineering team in the identification of suppliers available for sourcing components on a brand new automotive project.
Managing the whole vehicle purchasing, you will source any and all components required in the vehicle build process.
You will manage requests for quotations (RFQ) for new and existing production commodities to include review, analyses and clarification of quote packages.
You will work closely with the Supply Chain and Supplier Quality teams to control costs and Quality measures through effective negotiations, market tests, make/buy proposals and process changes.
You will support the building of relationships with existing and new suppliers and support the implementation of commodity strategies.
Low volume production, requiring a targeted and time sensitive approach to sourcing components.


The Person

You will be an experienced Technical Buyer with a proven record within automotive manufacturing purchasing.
Able to interpret engineering drawings and an understanding of both mechanical and electrical purchasing requirements.
Ideally from a prototype or low production environment and used to sourcing a broad range of components.
You will have qualifications related to your field and experience of purchasing or material planning software.
Previous experience supporting NPI campaigns within the automotive sector is highly valued in addition to proven cost negotiation and supplier management experience.
