The organisation has clients across a wide range of sectors, both here in the UK and overseas, in sectors such as telecommunications, banking, finance and utilities. Your new role
You will be working as part of a focused, professional and hands on development team who take great pride in their work. You'll work on a variety of contracts developing applications for the companies key clients. You'll maintain, enhance and improving existing applications as well as having the opportunity to work on developing new applications to meet new client specifications. You will work mainly in a Waterfall methodology, sometimes some elements of Agile on certain contracts depending on needs, to support the business in maintaining their lead in a highly competitive and fast paced market. You'll also be required to liaise effectively with other areas of the business to deliver the best possible products, ensuring a focus on high quality customer service.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll have prior experience as a Software Applications Developer across the full development lifecycle, ideally using Python, C or PERL. Understanding of version control such as SVN or Git is key. Also knowledge of working using document composition products, for example Papyrus, SEFAS, GMC - or similar - and of working in a Waterfall or Agile environment would be an advantage. You are conscientious about your work, a natural problem solver with a logical approach, taking pride in your work. Your attention to detail is second to none, and you're confident working across the full stack and development lifecycle. You will be a team player, working collaboratively and pulling together with your colleagues to get the job done well. You're an excellent communicator with both technical and non-technical clients or colleagues, able to work calmly and effectively in a time critical environment.
