SSE Retail is growing its Continuous Improvement capability in the Metering and Smart Transformation (MaST) directorate which means we're recruiting a number of Continuous Improvement Practitioners both internally and externally.

You'll lead projects (*A3s) from identification through to implementation - running 2 or more green belt projects to a value of c.£250k and delivering business performance improvements that are both financial or customer focussed.

You will be recognised as an expert in your field within Continuous Improvement, and able to inspire our teams with your passion and desire to get to the Root Cause, drive improvement and be part of making change happen. You will identify, design, and deliver projects and facilitate change. You'll be accountable for identifying and communicating process performance issues, drawing logical conclusions from complex data sets and providing recommendations to improve process efficiency.

You should have a clear grasp of, and experience with, continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma (ideally to Greenbelt level - although training will be provided for the right candidates). You should be proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint), and have experience of using Statistical analysis packages such as Sigma XL and Minitab, and Project Management tools.

Excellent written, presentation and communication skills are essential, as you'll be expected to present complex information to senior leaders, managers, contemporaries and peers alike. You should display advanced core skills of strategic thinking, conflict management, facilitation and stakeholder management as well as the ability to plan and prioritise large and often composite pieces of work. In addition you should be able to think 'Customer', ensuring a balance between both voice of customer and voice of process in your thinking and approach.

These roles are based in either of our offices in Penner Road, Havant and / or Forbury Place, Reading with regular travel between the two, and nationally in the implementation phases.
