Service Manager required for a global business who design, manufacture and supply a range of innovative electrical power supply solutions for the rail industry. This is a great opportunity for an individual who wants to drive and implement change within a reputable company.

To apply for the role you must hold an electrical/electronic qualification and have a working knowledge of low and high voltage distribution. Man management experience is essential, applicants from a senior field based role/service management role will have a considerable advantage. Candidates from an ex-forces background with an electrical background are invited to apply and tend to fit in well within the company’s culture.

You’ll be based from home travelling to customer sites and meeting engineers. The role is 50% site based at project location and 50% office based. The role will involve working on Network Rail infrastructure during re-signalling schemes to install and commission automated power systems. Due to the nature of the role you must be flexible to travel and occasional stay away will be required.

The role involves the management of a regional Field Service Engineering team covering most of the UK. For this role, you will need to be commercially aware as you will be responsible for account management with several widely-recognised clients. The successful candidate will co-ordinate engineers to ensure projects are completed in a timely fashion, to a budget and to customer satisfaction.

The Role:
*Responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction levels
*Ensuring Field Service team is documenting all inspections, maintenance, service work, and submitting all paperwork in a timely basis
*Develop and engage a team of field service engineers through clear objective setting and performance management
*Ensuring Engineers are equipped with relevant technical, product, authorisation and safety training

The Person:
*Come from an electrical/electronic background
*Have a working knowledge of high and low voltage distribution/switchgear
*Have proven experience of managing and developing a team
*Must be flexible to travel
