DescriptionTo provide hardware, network and security services for all aspects of the Company’s services and infrastructure, ensuring that the network, systems and services are provided on a 24 x 7 basis for a worldwide customer base

Applications for technical roles will include a short technical test.

Responsibilities·Day to day administration and maintenance of the Company’s hardware and network over all global data centres

·Optimisation of network configuration between data centres

·Working with network and voice interconnect partners to deploy new interconnects

·Creation of documentation detailing the physical and logical design of the network

·Deployment, maintenance and configuration of all network and security devices including routers, switches, firewalls, load-balancers, VPN, IDP, IDS, etc

·Hardware installation and maintenance in regional data centres

·Contribution to maintaining, updating and adhering to ISO27001 security processes and procedures

·Maintaining a capacity management and spares process

·Daily use of network monitoring and management systems

·Assist with daily network management activities (backups, system monitoring, etc)

·To assist with “on call” system monitoring and emergency maintenance on a regular basis to support 24x7 operations

·Assist in Troubleshooting and problem diagnosis on system and network technologies impacting the platform – recurring incidents or software bugs

·Report activities (capacity planning, service SLA, support KPIs)

Essential SkillsDetailed knowledge of Linux (preferably CentOS/ CoreOS)Detailed knowledge of networking stack in Linux (iptables, net-tools, iproute2, strongswan, quagga, dhcpd, bind9, keepalived, sysctl networking params, nftables, ipset etc.)Linux (CentOS) hardware build and installationSolid understanding of Layer 2, 3 and 4 protocols such as bonding, IPIP, GRE, IPSec, NAT, VLAN, TCP/IP, NAT, BGP, iBGP, etc in a WAN environmentUnderstanding of MPLS/VPLS, STP/RSTP, VRRP, OSPF, IPv6 (and related protocols / Linux software)Solid understanding of Application Layer protocols such as HTTP, SSH, DNS (including GeoDNS)Knowledge of SIP & RTP and ability to trace, report and diagnose such trafficScripting using technologies such as BashNetwork configuration of D-Link enterprise devicesIn-depth understanding of the fundamentals of IT network security
