Are you passionate about supporting disadvantaged young people to prepare for work through their Traineeship Programme?

Is the time right for you to take on a new role with a passionate and ethical local employer with ambitious plans for growth?

If the answer is yes, then this is the role for you!

This ambitious business provides training solutions and workforce development consultancy to employers across the East Midlands and nationally. They were graded as Good by OFSTED in September 2016 across all areas of their business. Their values (pride, respect, accountability, integrity and service excellence) underpin all their work with their employers, learners, partners and employees alike.

They have exciting opportunities for Functional Skills Tutors to join the family based at their Derby or Nottingham training centres. This is a full time role, with some travel between sites as required within the East Midlands, a driving licence and access to a car is therefore essential.

They are committed to safeguarding; an enhanced DBS clearance is also required for this role.

The Role

You will be working predominantly with young learners aged 16-24 on their Traineeship Programme. You will be teaching and assessing their Functional Skills maths and English up to Level 2 through a mixture of group learning, one-to-one sessions and via e-learning platforms. You will be effectively managing and progressing learners with varying levels of ability, to make them work ready, progress onto apprenticeships and ultimately employment.

The Individual

You should have experience of working with young people with a passion for motivating and inspiring learners. You will be an effective communicator, able to successfully engage learners and overcome their barriers to learning. You will be able to provide fun and engaging learning sessions, supporting learners into employment. You will have the ability to coach, develop and mentor people with the ability to manage difficult situations calmly.

You will have a recognised teaching qualification, ideally at Level 4, but full training will be provided for you to achieve that level. Functional Skills maths and/or English at Level 3 is also essential.

The Company

They have three thriving centres in Beeston, Nottingham and Derby. Growth plans to increase the number of businesses they work with to drive turnover to £10m in two years. They are looking for people with a passion for learning, skills and development to help them achieve these goals.

In return they offer excellent terms and conditions including:
- 36 days holiday (inc. bank holidays)
- Contributory pension scheme
- Free debt advice/counselling/guidance through their Employee Assistance Programme
- Childcare vouchers
- Life assurance

This business is committed to encouraging equality and diversity within their workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination.
