Introduction

Our client continues to expand in the contracting market place focused on delivery within a large geographical territory and to a targeted customer base. Our current business model focuses on the development of the control processes of contracting projects.

As part of the refocus, we have redefined the key roles and responsibilities in line with the optimum delivery model. The role of the Commissioning Engineer is a key component of that delivery model and this document sets out to identify the key requisites and operating parameters of that role The role is both challenging and rewarding and the successful candidate will be well positioned for further career

development within the division and the wider organisation. The role requires that the candidate shows a strong desire to work within the team, to meet and exceed operational delivery performance expectations. Working with the Project Management team, the role centres around working with our Subcontract teams, site control processes, document control and commissioning of complete, multi discipline systems as set out in Work Instruction documents, as a minimum and to the specific requirements of individual

projects. Monitoring of H&S at site level and programme delivery management.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Project Manager/Supervisor, the role will be responsible for:

? Direct supervision of the specialist/subcontractor teams and commissioning of multi discipline systems

in line with contractual requirements and within applicable industry standards.

? Plan, implement and progress the installation and commissioning of equipment and systems to meet

the requirements of customers within the constraints of contract specification, the programme and the

allowed costs.

? Monitoring of subcontract works ensuring that all Health and Safety requirements are fulfilled including

EHS responsibility at site level, ensuring all site teams are conversant with and working within agreed

Rams, delivery of bespoke and company tool box talks, site level audits. Promotion of Zero Harm safe

working practices.

? Responsible for the implementation of procedures for the execution of work, briefing instructions to the

Subcontract teams in a timely fashion and ensuring that best practice is exercised.

? Document control including issue of record drawings and commissioning data.

? Monitoring and reporting of progress at site level and to the Project Manager/Supervisor.

? Daily planning of commissioning programmes.

? Liaison with Client site team.

? Planning of Client Witness test and verification testing.

? Collation of all record information, system programmes and data.

? Delivery of bespoke on-site system training at Client level.

? Record, monitor and advise the Project Manager/Supervisor of any defects and Client specification

deviations.

? Co-ordinate large teams of Engineers and Sub-Contractors work whilst on site.

? Working to BS4737, NACOSS, BS5839, ISO 9000 and additional appropriate standards.

Preferred Previous Experience

? Installation engineering

? Commissioning skills in fire and/or security related products.

? Sub-contractor management.

? Minimum of 5 years within a field environment of installation/commissioning, or service.

? QEHS management at a site/construction level.

? Variation and change management

Person Specification

Required know-how / skills

? In depth knowledge of the installation and commissioning of CCTV and / or Access control equipment and

systems.

? Understanding of H & S regulations, CDM and site safety issues, including IEE regs 16th edition.

? Must have full driving licence.

? Have sufficient PC skills using Microsoft Office software packages, to create and maintain spreadsheets,

databases or directories of information on projects.
