Quality Engineer


To £45,000

A reputable manufacturer of precision components to the Aeropsace industry are now seeking a skilled quality engineer to join their company.

Suitable candidates will ideally be from the Aerospace industry with a complete understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 and ideally have the ability to carry out internal and external audits.

You will also be familiar with common quality and continuous improvement tools such as SPC, FMEA, Gauge R&R, 8D, Process mapping, 5 Why's, Ishiawa etc. have at least 5 years' experience within a similar role ideally precision engineering and a relevant degree in engineering.

Key activities:
*Perform Quality Assurance (QA) activities, by ensuring correct implementation of procedures and processes, to ensure product quality meets the stated requirements.
*Experience of working to Quality Standards AS9100 and ISO 9001.
*Creating KPI charts and display boards, plotting manufacturing quality trends, customer issues, etc.
*Quality Assurance post-delivery support.
*Analytical skills and methodical approach to problem resolution and investigation.
*To manage Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA) to completion.
*Development and creation of Procedures, Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Visual Work Aids as required.
*To ensure adherence with internal and external customer/regulatory requirements.
*Measure and report Cost of Poor-Quality and associated KPIs.
*Promote quality awareness throughout the organisation by coaching.
*To lead and participate in regular Quality Clinic investigations.
*Contribute to internal and external audits as required.
*Application of key quality tools such as: FMEA, 8D, 5 Why process mapping, and the support of others in their use.
*To represent the Quality Control function at quality review meetings.
*To assist in New Product Introduction reviews (NPI).
*Monitor and analysis of manufacturing performance through Statistical Process Control (SPC).
*To undertake and complete Quality Contract Review.
*Flexibility to travel within the UK when required.
