Role: Manufacturing Engineer Salary: £30000 - 40000 Commutable from: Huddersfield, Bradford, Halifax, Leeds Role: Reporting into the Manufacturing Engineering Leader, the role of Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for project managing Capital Expenditure Projects for the purchase, installation, and commissioning of production machinery. In line with this, the Manufacturing Engineer will implement cost reduction projects and lean manufacturing initiatives to ensure all existing components and NPI are manufactured as efficiently as possible. As Manufacturing Engineer you will create CNC programs using offline CAM software and oversee shop floor prove outs through to handover. This role will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining all documentation in line with manufacture such as SOP?s, process routes and set up sheets. Other responsibilities for this role will be to design jigs and fixtures in line with production requirements and continually review manufacturing methods to achieve ongoing optimal performance. Person: As a time served/ HND qualified Manufacturing Engineer you will have previous experience of working in a machining/assembly environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of project managing high value Capex projects and be familiar with CNC programming using Fanuc, Siemens and Heidenhain control systems. As Manufacturing Engineer you will be familiar with fixture design using Pro E software and creating production documentation such as SOP?s, and set up sheets. Another requirement for this role is an in-depth understanding and implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques to improve processes and reduce costs. Prerequisites for this role are good team working and communication skills and an enthusiastic approach to your work. A Six Sigma Green Belt will be a distinct advantage as would experience of offline CAM software.
