Product Manager, Co-Location/Data Centre services for a major pan European Data Centre services provider

Up to £60k base plus 20% bonus plus benefits



Role Purpose:

- Overall responsibility for the complete life cycle of DCS product line/s including all aspects of management and P&L. The overall objective is to ensure CDS maximises revenue and profit growth potential, through leveraging the portfolio of existing and new products, Working with the Proposition Director, the PM is responsible for specifying in detail , developing, promoting and implementing new products.

Key Accountabilities:

- Results focus; delivery of plans and projects. Achievement and over achievement of revenue and profit targets.
- Change orientation; produce new analysis and ideas to challenge the status quo to break down barriers to business growth. Accept lead responsibility for pushing initiatives forward against blocks that might occur.
- Customer focus & Sales channel engagement; understand customer needs, assist on bids and engage with sales - including providing sales training and internal product promotion.
- Own the customer experience and drive through enhancements to this.
- Business analysis; management of project budgets to achieve best possible return. Ownership of pricing strategy for standard and bespoke solution as well as promotions.
- Accurate budgeting, forecasting and measuring of product performance plus implementation of plans to improve commercial performance of products. Promoting margin rich sales and improving profitability of products.
- Full ownership of product P&L. To include financial forecasting & management; production of robust revenue and profit forecasting.
- Project management; delivery of new initiatives and projects on time and to budget. Give clear leadership to delivery teams and track progress and overcome roadblocks to delivery.
- Product lifecycle management; implementation of product strategy to ensure ongoing competitiveness and appropriate profitability of the product. Produce and maintain product futures roadmap.
- Leadership; Ability to task lead, motivate and drive virtual team, e.g. project delivery. Be the company authority on our product capability.
- Team working; work in a team environment to achieve results. Actively looks for opportunities to get involved. Provides support to line/project manager and accepts joint responsibility for decisions.
- Strategy; produce and maintain a coherent strategy for product area and get company wide buy-in to this. Development and execution of appropriate product strategies and tactical initiatives towards the achievement of those objectives. Preparation, maintenance and ownership of the products futures road map including the justification and implementation of new products or enhancements

- Proven colocation product management experience is an imperative, although expert engineering knowledge of colocation M&E not required
- Network product management is highly desirable
- Direct experience of business planning and analysing requirements, identifying areas for improvement and implementation
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with key internal stakeholders across the business at all levels
- Previous experience working within an IT Managed Services, or Telco organisation an advantage


- Degree qualification preferred / Direct experience preferred
