Building Control Surveyor
A new and exciting opportunity is available for a Building Control Surveyor within the busy Building Control team based in Cambridge. As the successful Building Control Surveyor, you will be required to assist the department with a broad range of interesting projects so it is important that Surveyors who wish to apply thrive in a team environment and will be able to contribute to the growth of the team by taking an active role in the development.
Building Control Surveyor Role: -
Ensuring that all team applications are determined within the required timescale.
Checking building control applications and related documents for compliance with the Building Regulations and allied legislation and responding to related correspondence. Carrying out site inspections and other associated duties including recording of visits. Attending and contributing to meetings
Dealing with demolition notices and associated documentation, including monitoring conditions as necessary. Providing professional advice and excellent customer service to customers by phone, in writing and face to face. Report writing.
Role requirements and qualifications: -
Candidates ideally will have a MRICS, MBEng or MCIOB qualification (or be working towards)
Experience within a similar role.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to develop the business by introducing new clients and expanding the workload.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc), and in data analysis software/programmes The ability to use your own initiative to solve challenges Competency at checking own work to confirm accuracy Awareness of local government procedures Full driving licence
