My client who is one of the top 5 Building Services Design Consultancies in the UK are currently on a significant recruitment drive and one of their key vacancies is to bring in a talented and experienced Sustainability Consultant to join their London design team.

The Consultancy

They have a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors and have built an excellent reputation for their expertise in design engineering. Project values range from £1M to £500m and they mainly concentrate on infrastructure, water, environment and buildings across the world. In the UK they work on some of the most prestigious projects as well as taking on projects on behalf of Local Authorities, Transport for London, Government Agencies, Major Contractors and reputable developers.

The role

The main duties will to develop strategies for improving sustainability on a diverse portfolio of projects. The Sustainability Consultant would be responsible for being the Lead Consultant on the delivery of LEED, BREEAM, WELL and Home Quality Mark projects, with support from a senior member of the design team. Review project details and develop targets for sustainability; Review documentation provided by project teams, assess this against the project's targets and provide feedback or follow-up. Set up and maintain projects on online tracker systems such as Tracker-Plus and LEED Online; Communicate sustainability requirements to internal and external team members; Produce reports providing advice and guidance to clients and project teams; Attend site visits to review progress against sustainability targets; Review the performance of designated projects on a monthly basis and update the team's project tracker with progress and financial information; Arrange and attend meetings, take minutes and distribute actions and attend and contribute to monthly team meetings.

The Ideal Sustainability Design Consultant

The ideal Sustainability Consultant will be degree qualified in Mechanical, Structural or other relevant discipline, ideally to Masters level
Qualified as LEED, WELL or BREEAM AP (desirable but not essential)
Be a graduate member of an appropriate professional institution such as the Energy Institute and be working towards achieving full corporate membership and CEnv or CEng status
Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
Commercial awareness
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges
