We are looking for Build Engineers / Inspectors and Electronic Test Engineers for a well-known automotive company based in Woking, Surrey.

Role 1 - Build Technician

Principal Accountabilities:

Support of production teams manufacturing activities.

Performs/prepares build, test or inspection activities before and during product manufacturing.

Delivers production requirements by following instructions/processes.

Electronics assembly inspection support.

Maintains manufacturing documentation to achieve full standards of traceability.

Fully contributes to the process of continuous improvements and company goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Good GCSE grades or equivalent in English and Maths.

Hand soldering skills to meet IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-610 & IPC-7711/7721 all to Class 3.

General understanding of industry standards and regulations in order to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safety.

General experience of all aspects of box build manufacturing processes.

Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job expertise.

Prototype Build Technician

As a Prototype Build Technician working in our test design team you will build and maintain quality electronic test systems for use in the design, development and production of products.

You will be involved in all the teams' build work, from complete build of automated test systems to simple cable repairs & builds.

You will build safety-critical test systems to be used in testing high-voltage and/or water-cooled products.

You will occasionally build or modify soldered assemblies, including PCB SMT & through-hole and control panel assemblies.

You will work with the rest of the test development team to contribute to designs.

Working in a team which is responsible for many projects you will work on various concurrent projects, and work to meet specified timescales.

You will contribute to the maintenance of existing test systems, providing fault finding support where necessary.

This role suits a motivated, well-organised prototype build technician who is experienced in low-volume electronic assembly to a very high standard, such as aerospace, and is excited about developing their career.

You:

Have good GCSE grades or equivalent in English and Maths.

Have significant experience in a similar high-tech role in which you have excelled.

Are thorough and rigorous in all your work.

You are certified in IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001, or equivalent.

Role 2 - Inspectors

Purpose of the Role:

To competently follow predefined inspection processes to deliver products.

Role Dimensions:

Overtime during certain periods of the year is essential to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.

Principal Accountabilities:

Electronics assembly inspection support.

Performs/prepares inspection activities before, during and after product manufacturing.

Delivers inspection requirements by following instructions/processes.

Maintains manufacturing documentation to achieve full standards of traceability.

Fully contributes to the process of continuous improvements and company goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Good GCSE grades or equivalent in English and Maths.

Proven experience in a PCBA inspector role.

Experience of surface mount, conventional and unit manufacturing processes.

Inspecting and hand soldering skills to meet requirements for IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-610 Class 3.

Ability to concentrate for long periods of time on routine tasks.

General understanding of industry standards and regulations in order to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safety.

Role 3 - Test Technicians

Purpose of the Role:

To competently follow predefined test processes to deliver products.

Principal Accountabilities:

Performs/prepares test activities before and during product manufacturing.

Delivers test requirements by following instructions/processes.

Electronics assembly test support.

Maintains manufacturing/test documentation to achieve full standards of traceability.

Fully contributes to the process of continuous improvements and company goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.

Use of standard bench top test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters etc.

Ability to fault find electronic circuits and assemblies to component level.
