A fantastic opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager to join a market leading manufacturing organisation has become available. Working alongside the senior management team, the Supply Chain Manager holds a key position in the timely delivery of raw material to support the production plans of the company, along with the management of the Logistics and stores teams. The Supply Chain Manager will design and implement the strategic supply chain process in the delivery of the businesses growth plan and provide day-to-day guidance for the Supply Chain team. Candidates will have a background in the automotive sector within a manufacturing environment and will have had experience of leading teams of people and implementing change management.

Role responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager:

·To manage and be accountable for the operational capacity of the organisation, ensuring internal and sub contract material movement is effective.

·Liaise with the logistics contractor, and mage internal and sub contract material movement, including Kanban and consignment stocks.

·Oversee the master production scheduling and planning of internal and external material requirements.

·Setting output and inventory targets, maintaining output monitoring system.

·Overseeing customer scheduling and order management with internal personnel and outsourced carries.

·ERP/MRP core data integrity, reporting and systems compliance.

·Management and development of supply chain personnel, ensuring development of competencies and core skills and succession planning.

·Demonstrate a high level of commitment and focus on Health and Safety of self and direct reports, and others within the production area.

·Ensure Health and Safety risk assessments are understood, guidelines are adhered to and take a zero tolerance approach to unsafe working, behaviours and wearing/use of PPE.

·Stay cost conscious, ensure all spend is authorised and required. Working across other departments to ensure the customer comes first.

·Manage team members who fall short, in quality, attitude, and absence, conduct keeping written records and working with the HR department on site.

·Recruit, select, Induct and train new employees.

·Ensure KPI’s, standards and new ways of working are measured and communicated to the team.

·Hold annual appraisals, one to ones and team briefings to ensure the team are engaged, recognised and working in the best way possible.

Person Specification of the Supply Chain Manager:

•Logistics and Supply Chain Management Experience in Manufacturing.

•Planning, Scheduling, Shipping competencies and planning.


•Lean, Six Sigma and JIT desirable.

•Automotive Industry Experience would be desirable but not essential.

•Degree Level Qualification.

Salary and Benefits of the Supply Chain Manager:

·£60,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)
