Our client is a Global defence giant and the single contractor providing specialist In-Service Support to the Royal Navy's Trident Strategic Weapon. They are urgently seeking an experienced SWS Fire Control Liaison Engineer to work as an integral member of the MoD Strategic Weapons Project Team (SWPT) team based at Abbey Wood.

Role Synopsis:

The post holder would be responsible to the SWS Programmes Manager (South) and will:

- Work as a fully integrated member of the SWPT Fire Control team
- Represent and assist with the management of various SWPT/Strategic Systems
- Liaise with internal/external organisations under the direction of SWPT
- Have an understanding of and respect the need for confidentiality
- Provide daily liaison communications between SS teams
- Provide on-site technical support to
- Assist with the Project Management of major modifications to the Fire Control Subsystem

Required skills and experience

- Excellent working knowledge of the Fire Control subsystem and support equipment
- Excellent understanding of SWS Fire Control operations
- Good working knowledge of both 1st and 2nd level Fire Control documentation
- Have a working knowledge of Project and Risk disciplines
- Knowledge of the SWS Logistics process
- Good working knowledge of the interface between Fire Control and other SWS subsystems and Ship Interfaces
- Clear and concise written communication skills
- Ability to orally communicate clearly and effectively at all levels

Desired skills and experience

- Experience of the Polaris Sales Agreement and its background
- Knowledge of the Strategic Weapons Project Team TORs
- Knowledge of the US Strategic Systems Projects stakeholders including design authorities, particularly SP23 and GDAI
- An understanding of the Vanguard class submarines' life cycle
