I am looking for a KS3 teacher to join a 'good' SEN secondary school in West London from September. The school teaches students aged 11-19 with moderate (MLD) to severe (SLD) learning difficulties including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Cognitive, Sensory and Physical Disabilities. This small school benefits from extensive grounds and is located only a short walk from local bus stops and two underground stations making it an excellent location if travelling by public transport.

You would be teaching a lower KS3 class of around 10 students with the aid of a teaching assistant. You would need to be able to plan and deliver Maths, English and Personal and Social Education classes, and a full range of National Curriculum subjects would be taught by specialist subject teachers. The school is looking for someone with the ability to differentiate lessons in order to accommodate the individual needs of those in the class.

Due to the speech and language needs of many of the students at this school, experience in SALT and Makaton would be advantageous however the school provides weekly training and support to all staff by a range of professionals. In addition to weekly training sessions, this school also holds a weekly staff meeting to review pupil's behaviour and progress and draw up relevant plans to support students.
