A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a world leading manufacturing company based in Gloucester.

This is an exciting time to join this brilliant company as they are experiencing a massive period of growth and are looking for an enthusiastic Health and Safety specialist to hit the ground running inthis role.

As an Environmental Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for designing and delivering the company’s EHS policies and procedures whilst continuously improving performance and ensuring best practice. You will have a passion for Health and Safety and be able to positively promote a healthy and safety conscious culture.

About the role:

This is a busy role and you will be responsible for:

• Developing, implementing and auditing EHS plans, policies and procedures according to legal guidelines

• Reviewing existing practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk

• Providing health and safety KPI’s and reports

• Investigating and maintaining records of incidents and accidents, ensuring corrective measures are actioned

• Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive legislation and any developments that affect the company’s operations

• Providing EHS training and awareness campaigns throughout the organisation to improve the health and safety culture and ensure competent and informed employees.

About the person:

With a strong background in Health and Safety (NEBOSH), the ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience within a high volume manufacturing environment.

Other skills required include:

• A BSc/BA in safety management or a relevant field is preferred

• Knowledge of Health and Safety management systems, ideally ISO 14001

• Able to deliver training modules to all levels

• Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment

• Excellent organisational skills and motivational skills

• Responds quickly, calmly and efficiently in emergency situations

• Good levels of IT literacy

About the benefits: You will receive a salary of between £45,000 and £47,000 plus other company benefits.
