You will manage and monitor all off the catering operations, ensuring excellent standards at all times, within budget. You will prepare and service all restaurant requirements and ensure conformance with company specification and continuously develop and improve food quality and hygiene standards.

The main responsibilities for this role are to:

  • Develop and improve food quality and hygiene standards by monitoring customer trends and demands and by keeping up to date with changes in legislation
  • Ensure compliance with client, company and legal requirements such as health and safety, first aid and accident reporting
  • Be the first point of contact and meet with clients to ensure understanding of their needs
  • Recruit, train, develop and motivate staff and conduct regular team briefings
  • Maintain staff records within the unit and ensure training within legislation and company policy
  • Record and monitor all holiday leave and sickness levels
  • Ensure adequate resources are available and that they are stored, used, maintained and controlled appropriately
  • Apply quality control procedures to ensure the maintenance of high standards of service and compliance with the contract specification
  • Control the budgets for staff, products and materials and assist with monthly billing
  • Input all catering staff payroll checking that staff are paid correctly and on time
  • Deal with cash controls and conduct accurate stock takes
  • Ensure the timely recording and remitting of all company bookwork
  • Meet the expectation of new concepts and innovations, to include live cookery, grab and go, theme days and marketing promotions
  • Report to the Facilities Manager at weekly meetings and participate in monthly client meetings

A resilient and robust, self-motivated, flexible, customer focused, autonomous self-starter who will take ownership of a diverse team, you will have an Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification and be IOSH certified. You will also:

  • Have excellent IT skills
  • Have a proven record of excellent budgetary control and management
  • Have previous accountability of service delivery and full P&L control and cash handling experience
  • Have excellent people management skills
  • Have strong motivational and team building skills
  • Have a good knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • Have experience as a Chef Manager at large/ multiple sites
  • Have the ability to demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  • Be passionate about food innovation
  • Be willing to go that extra mile
  • Be a team player
