Technical PPM Supervisor required to join a leading National TFM provider within the MOD framework. Girling Jones require a Technical PPM Supervisor to join a business focusing on the ministry of defence estate. This is a diverse position, offering a Technical PPM Supervisor the chance to work on varied properties, from leased residential property and commercial sites through to listed buildings. You will be joining a structured business, with a proven history within the MOD Estates Management realm.

Your New Position

Reporting to the Head of Operations with specific responsibility for the delivery of the day to day estates operations, including PPM tasks to the estate across PFI, PPP and Service Family Accommodation.

  • Full line management duties and responsibilities including all HR-related requirements
  • Effectively oversee the coordination and programming of the works to meet requirements, maximising resources and financial performance
  • Identify and measure performance output criteria for all relevant aspects of service delivery involving the control of contractors to develop and implement meaningful KPIs
  • Management of the commercial contract arrangements with our main Measured Term Contractors (Electrical, Mechanical, Build/Fabric) and SME Contractors
  • Provide detailed reports periodically to summarise key progress and activity
  • Ensure all tasks performed are carried out in accordance with all current Health, Safety and Welfare legislation including environmental best practice

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience within a similar role
  • Project Management experience
  • Demonstrable experience of Estates PPM related disciplines such as lifts, LEVs, pressure vessels, HVAC, FGAS, Water hygiene, boilers, LV and HV, compressors, BMS, fire systems, pumps essential
  • Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical, financial and numerate approach
  • Demonstrable experience in subcontractor management essential
  • Line management experience with a high level of motivation, energy, drive and enthusiasm
  • Excellent knowledge and application of H&S and Environmental matters
  • Detailed understanding of relevant regulations, legislation and standards
  • Decision making in a timely manner based on facts and sound rationale
  • Highly literate and experienced with IT
  • Expert at interacting with clients and stakeholders at a senior level
  • Excellent level of interpersonal and people management skills and attributes

  • A relevant formal qualification in facilities management
  • A relevant formal qualification in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IET, CIBSE, BIFM)
