HR + Professional Services Category Manager | Multinational Retailer
A Category Manager to focus on HR + Professional Services is required for a leading retail organisation that is listed on the FTSE 100. They have just been through a procurement transformation and are now bedding in a strong process and governance.
You will be responsible for the end to end management of the HR + Professional Services category, drawing on expertise in procurement to provide the business with a robust supply chain. Meet stakeholder requirements and delivers the best overall commercial arrangements for whilst ensuring the lowest total cost of ownership, and mitigating third party risk.
You will develop and execute category strategies in HR + Professional Services in accordance with the Procurement strategy, and category profiling, and communicate these within Procurement, and with Finance, Legal & the Business. Develop category profiles based on spend data, supplier segmentation, business stakeholder requirements and market assessments. Liaise with business partners to understand and plan for their sourcing requirements and execute sourcing processes, where all purchasing decisions offer the best value for money and, where possible, the total cost of ownership of the goods or services is reduced through the effective use of sourcing levers. Your spend responsibility will be circa £100m for the UK.
Salary – Up to £65,000 + 30% bonus. Pension – 1% Contributory. 25 days holiday. Employee discount scheme. Full health cover for the individual, additional family members can be bought.
Location – West London, with some flexibility to work from home or at suppliers offices.
Career development: Opportunities in the future could be Head of Category or sideways or diagonal moves within the business. They have a business change function, the ‘Directs’ side of the business, other companies they own or the procurement operations side of the team.
The ideal profile will candidate profile will come from retail and / or FMCG or have experienced it by working in a consultancy firm, used to or wants to work in a fast paced environment. Used to working within a structure such as this or want to and see the benefits of it. Ideally doing HR + Professional Services procurement now or very recently, experienced in writing and developing category plans or supporting someone more senior in doing them. Well structured, good project management experience and results driven, analytical and can produce slide packs with good skill in communication, working within a team and with stakeholders from junior ones to senior.
