Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor currently in the market for a permanent move?
My client provides build, fit-out and project management services across a wide range of sectors, from retail and leisure through transport and hospitality to finance and student accommodation. As Quantity Surveyor reporting to the Commercial Manager you'll be responsible for accurate, intelligent and profitable pricing, whilst taking a proactive approach to on-site expenditure and sales management. Ensuring cash moves in and out on time and providing regular, detailed reporting, you'll also act as keeper of commercial gateways, satisfying all the requirements of procurement and accounts. You'll be expected to adopt a collaborative push/pull approach to critical path management and a real-time approach to cost management. Other deliverables will include:
- proactive risk management of key commercial outcomes
- calculation and fair valuation of prices and variations
- providing structured improvement feedback to the business.
With at least an HNC Quantity Surveying or a vocational equivalent, you have a proven track record in fast-track retail fit out, underpinned by the ability to manage multiple projects. With an excellent understanding of valuations and cash-flow, the ability accurately to prepare CVRs and an understanding of KPIs, you have sound general construction knowledge and can accurately take dimensions from both drawings and on-site. A strong all-round communicator with first-class negotiating skills, you have strong Excel or estimating package knowledge and excellent organisational skills.
