Based in Dorset, this highly successful company employs over 100 staff and are based in two offices. With projects throughout Southern England they are specialists in high-end bespoke retirement living, with occasional projects such as hotels and conference centres.

The practice is looking to develop and set new standards in the sector of retirement living, to offer exceptional design and quality in all its projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand its technical team with the appointment of an Architectural Technician.

Role & ResponsibilitiesYou will be working within the technical team, providing occasional support to the planning team:

Producing full drawing packages, schedules and specificationsWork on and monitor projects through to construction and on to final completionProvide direct support on individual projects to either the architect planner or the project lead, essentially running a project covering all technical aspects, with guidance and assistance from supervising colleagues.Correspond with the local planning authority regarding discharging planning conditions and with building control in relation to detailed submissions and surveying conditionsLiaise and coordinate with external consultants, as well as all internal disciplines through the entire processRequired Skills & ExperienceHNC in Architectural Technology/Construction or a BA or BSC (Hons) Degree in a relative fieldExperience using AutoCAD is essential; and experience of Revit, Sketch up and Photoshop would be beneficialKnowledge of UK Building Regulations is essentialExperience using NBS Building or CreateSpecifications writing experience an advantageA minimum of 2 years working experience within architecture in the UKExperience working on Retirement living and Residential projects would be highly desirableGood communication skills both written and verbalAble to work independently as well as within a teamPossess attention to detail and pride in presentation of workSalary & PackageThe role offers an annual salary of £28,000 to £35,000 per annum plus payment of professional memberships, work-based pension scheme, 20 days holiday per annum which would increase yearly plus bank holidays and three days over Christmas, supported CPD and childcare vouchers.

The company would also look to support career progression to that of Senior Architectural Technician.
